Never Say Never Again

7 November 2025 to 10 January 2026
30 new works by solo exhibitors from the early years of The Winchester Gallery and 15 gallery models of site-specific installations.

From the early 1980s until the year 2000, The Winchester Gallery occupied the double-height space on the second floor of the WSA East Side building, now the BA Fine Art studio. This exhibition revisits selected exhibitions programmed into that space and some from when the Gallery first moved into the current location. The exhibition comprises new or recent work by thirty solo exhibitors from the original programme, accompanied by fifteen gallery models housing installations from the same era. The exhibition revisits models of site-specific installations originally curated by John Gillett, who from 1985 until 2008 was Director of The Winchester Gallery.

Queering Connections: Never Say Never Again workshop

This workshop offered participants a hands‑on model‑making session led by exhibition model maker Will Woods. It explored the creative and conceptual processes behind exhibition design, focusing on how models can be used as tools for thinking, testing ideas, and challenging conventional approaches to display. As part of The Winchester Gallery’s Queering Connections programme, the event encouraged participants to experiment with materials and methods while queering established exhibition practices and fostering inclusive, collaborative ways of working within a gallery context

**Alt text:** An empty white gallery space with a wooden floor is lit by sunlight streaming through a slatted ceiling, casting linear shadows across the walls and floor. A closed door is visible on the left, emphasising the quiet, minimal interior.
